Absolute. Utter.

I owe today's blog post to YouVersion's introduction to Romans.

It contains a statement that caused me to catch my breath. "Baptism into Jesus breaks the power of evil and brings freedom". I challenge you to let that roll around in your mind for a minute.

It's a phrase that captures so much.

The idea of being baptized in His blood is falling fresh on me. Faith in Jesus leads to plunging headfirst into His death. His sacrificial death. The death of sin. Absolute. Utter. Death.

We then rise in our resurrected freedom. The freedom and oneness we had with the Father before The Fall. Before evil stole our identity as His children. A trading of our God-given standing in the family, for pig slop in a far away and treacherous land. Absolute. Utter. Freedom.

Thank you, God, thank you Jesus and thank you Spirit of the Living God. For restoring what evil stole and paving the way for us to inherit a new Creation.
